The Thames sailing Barge was a common sight on the river Thames in London until road based transport took over - their flat bottoms making them ideal for the shallow waters of the Thames estuary. This weathervane depicts one of these iconic boats, now more commonly seen as part of the Thames barge races. The finish consists of a layer of zinc electroplate to protect against rust, and a traditional looking but hard wearing matt black powder coat. We can create weathervane designs based on any boat at no extra cost, and are equally happy working from a photo provided by the customer, or doing our own research .
For advice on choosing the most appropriate size of weathervane for the intended location, have a look at the weathervanes information page. This also details further the quality of finish and optional extras. For advice regarding fixings, please read the fixings information page.
