Hand forged fireside poker

A fire poker forged by hand from 12mm diameter round bar, ideal for use with log burners, fireplaces and firepits. A wonderful housewarming gift for anyone who loves summer nights by the firepit, or winter ones snuggled up indoors by the fire! The handle is heated to an orange glow and forged by hand into an elegant swirl, using only a hammer and anvil.

This fire poker is forged by hand in our coal forge here in the Scottish Borders. A natural beeswax finish, applied while the metal is at a black heat and then polished, gives the poker a classic, traditional aesthetic. While it is suitable for use outdoors, it should not be left outside permanently in order to maintain the beautiful finish.

This fireside poker was designed with usability in mind; the handle fits perfectly in your hand and is comfortable & easy to use. It has a quality, chunky feel to it without being uncomfortably heavy. 

The bar measures approx 13" from the handle, and is carefully tapered to a square point.
