All of our weathervanes are built to last. The finish consists of a layer zinc electroplate, applied before the highly durable matt black powder coat is baked on at 170 degrees. It has the look of traditional ironwork, but with it’s longevity extended by the most up to date knowledge and processes.
Halloween or not, our unique witch weathervane will stand out and be noticed. Drawn by a professional illustrator, she is depicted flying through the cloudy sky on her broomstick, with her familiar, a black Cat, at the front. A wonderful gift for anyone with a little bit of magic about them!
In order to ensure this weathervane functions perfectly, the black cat is cut in heavier steel in order to balance the sail. So, the wind hits the witch with the larger surface area, and it spins into the wind because it is weighted equally front to back. We have produced this wind vane with a variety of familiars in place of the Cat, including a Beagle and a Rabbit – the only limit is your imagination! There is no charge for bespoke design work, so why not create a personalised gift for a loved one this Christmas?
How long should my witch weathervane last?
It’s a really important question that is tricky to answer with certainty because there are so many variables. Where you live will have a fairly large impact, for example if you are on a cliff by the sea, you can guarantee that the salt air and strong winds will have an impact on the lifespan of any metalwork, especially when compared to a weathervane mounted on a shed in a sheltered garden inland. We began producing our wind vanes in 2012, and our original prototypes are still looking great because of the incredibly hard wearing finish – this includes several located in villages close to the coast.
