Morris Minor Weathervane

Morris Minor Weathervane

A great photo of our Morris Minor weathervane came in last week, really pleased to add this to our gallery as they are one of our favourite classic British cars. In fact David is currently in a phase of convincing me to buy one, which while I'm not specifically against, I just think that after a day of running Black Fox Metalcraft, wrangling 3 year old twins and entertaining a Border Collie, sleep is always going to be a higher priority than getting covered in oil tinkering with an old car! Perhaps one day...

Production of Morris Minors began in the 1940s right after the end of the second world war. The design of this economical family car was to be as spacious as possible inside, and something which the average man would enjoy owning rather than just put up with. It also aimed to be simple for inexperienced motorists to use. By 1960 the Morris Minor was the first British car to sell more than a million units!

When ording this weathervane, our customer asked for a longer pole to suit their garage roof, but it is otherwise a standard piece from the website. It's never a problem to make alterations to our standard fixings to suit your requirements, or even produce a completely bespoke bracket. I think this makes such a great weathervane because it's shape is instantly recognisable; from a manufacturing point of view they actually balance very easily, and they are one of those cars that even with fashions coming and going, this one will always look cool!

We can create bespoke weathervanes based on any classic car, and are happy to work from photographs of a specific model. Contact us today to discuss your ideas.
