Laser Cut Murals, Garden screens & Gate Panels

Black Fox Metalcraft’s designer Jenny has spent much of her life drawing and doodling; their huge portfolio of work reveals a realistic style which a touch of whimsical, firmly rooted in her love of the natural world. This style transfers perfectly to creating larger scale pieces of art and telling a story; ideal for laser cut garden screens, murals and gate panels. Jenny loves the challenge of bringing together different elements, and with a degree in Illustration, is more than capable of bringing your ideas to life. Black Fox Metalcraft are happy to work from as little as a discussion over the phone; equally it can be great fun to work with customers who know exactly what they want from a design. Though work may begin very roughly in a sketchbook, final designs are always transferred to computer using a graphics tablet, so you can see exactly what your laser cut wall art, mural or gate panel will look like before cutting.

Our laser cut gate panels and murals are cut using a nitrogen shrouded laser; the nitrogen keeps the metal cool and therefore prevents warping. The thickness of steel varies depending on the requirements of the job and your personal preferences; we can be guided by you and discuss any pros and cons, giving advice based on our decade and a half of experience. All work is precisely and neatly TIG welded to an extremely high standard, and where precision is required, for example where a panel’s measurements are critical to fitting into a gate, we are more than capable of working from technical drawings & pride ourselves on getting everything millimetre perfect. 

 

Floral Art Stands for NAFAS and Church Displays

Black Fox Metalcraft have created a wide range of stands and frames for NAFAS groups all over the UK, as well as decorative stands for holding church floral displays. We understand that the metalwork often needs to be as subtle and understated as possible, allowing your display to shine in the spotlight. We use a highly skilled method of welding known as TIG, which is incredibly precise and avoids the large, blobby welds and splatter you may often have seen. Our floral art stands can be supplied in bare steel to be painted at home to match a particular colour scheme, or can be finished to a professional standard using a baked on powder coat (available in most colours). We are happy to work to your specifications, even making stands collapsible for ease of transportation where required.

 

Custom Frames for Furniture Makers

Though much of our work shows off our artistic flair as designers, we also regularly produce work that will never be seen. The images below show some examples of custom framework we have produced for furniture manufacturers all over the UK.

Forged by Hand

Working with the coal forge is one of my favourite aspects of running Black Fox Metalcraft. Using centuries old Blacksmithing techniques we can create custom scrollwork for hanging signs and weathervanes as well as decorative ironwork to fit within a gate panel, balustrade or other architectural features.

We can work from drawings to your specifications, or can sketch out designs based on a description of your requirements. Varying thicknesses of material can be used to match your requirements and personal preferences; we’re always happy to discuss a project and offer advice where needed. Handmade forge work can be electroplated and powder coated, or a traditional forge finish applied depending on the purpose and intended location.
