Continue ShoppingFishing Weathervane
This fisherman weathervane depicts a classic fishing scene with a man sat in front of a patch of reeds, sheltering under an umbrella, rod extended into the water. It was designed and manufactured by a small family business in the Scottish Borders – we do not outsource to factories in Asia in order to cut costs.
Though the umbrella is an amusing reminder of the British weather, it actually serves the purpose of adding a little extra surface area to the back of the design for the wind to catch, meaning the weathervane functions perfectly as well as being aesthetically beautiful. The design is cut using a nitrogen shrouded laser. This 21 century technique means the metal is kept cool and prevented from warping, making intricate design work possible.
Black Fox Metalcraft are skilled designers, and therefore can alter this design to make it entirely unique and personal to you, creating a bespoke weathervane – a wonderful fishing gift for dad! There is no additional charge for this service – we genuinely love to create meaningful designs that will be truly appreciated. The photos on this page show a couple of examples; the fisherman’s build, hair and clothing can be altered, pets can be added, and even a guitar; showcasing your loved ones favourite hobbies to create a truly personalised, bespoke fisherman weathervane. We can work from photographs, or just a brief description. Customers are welcome to have as much or as little input during the design process as they desire – we’re always happy to make alterations and collaborate with you until the design is exactly as you want it.
This design is also available as a set of hand forged coat hooks.
Designed and crafted entirely in the UK, Black Fox Metalcraft's weathervanes are all electroplated as standard, meaning their lifespan will be significantly longer than that of a non electroplated version. The matt black powdercoat gives a traditional aesthetic, which because of the high standard of the finish, will be maintained for many years to come. For advice on choosing the most appropriate size of weathervane for your property and the location, have a look at the weathervanes installation page.
