The inspiration behind the design

Living and working in rural Scotland, we are surrounded by wildlife. From our garden, we often hear Tawny Owls calling across the valley, occasionally joined by the eerie screech of Barn Owls close by in the farm yard. With so much natural inspiration, creating this owl-themed weathervane felt wonderfully fitting. A few years ago, our Volvo was written off after mice chewed through an inaccessible tangle of wiring—so in many ways, this design is a tribute to all the owls working hard to keep the local rodent population under control!

Each weathervane is cut from high-quality sheet steel and TIG welded by a skilled professional in our UK workshop. We also take the extra step of applying a zinc electroplate finish, which increases the life of the piece by decades compared with non-electroplated alternatives. Finally, a tough matt black powder coat, baked at 170 degrees, gives the work the timeless look of traditional wrought iron.
