Continue ShoppingGeese in Flight Weathervane
This weathervane features three Canada Geese in flight. With almost 15 years of experience in designing perfectly functioning aesthetically beautiful weathervanes, the team at Black Fox Metalcraft have carefully composed this Geese design to feature the bird with the most surface area at the back. This allows the sail to spin effortlessly into the wind on a single ball bearing, telling you where the weather is coming from. Though the birds are in flight, we’ve taken care to ensure that there is enough contact between the three Geese that any weakness is avoided.
The lighter markings on the Geese are cut out, allowing natural light to shine through, creating a striking silhouette against the sky. Though these migratory Geese are originally native to the Arctic & North America, they’ve become such a common sight in parks across Britain – the distinctive white chinstrap is highlighted, making the weathervane design instantly recognisable, setting them apart from other species.
Black Fox Metalcraft weathervanes are crafted with quality you can both see and feel. The arrows are precision-cut from solid 8mm steel to perfectly balance the sail, while the NSEW points are made from sturdy 5mm steel, giving them a strong, durable feel. Thanks to the well-engineered movement of the sail, the Penguin design always turns into the wind—so it never bears the full force of it.
Photographed here with 23.5 carat gilded cardinal points against a backdrop of the stunning Scottish Western Isles and Atlantic Ocean, this weathervane will stand out and be noticed in any location, and the exceptionally high standard of finish means it will be admired for years to come.
This design also works well as a house sign or set of hand forged coat hooks – if you are looking for Goose themed gifts, why not get in touch today to discuss your ideas.
Designed and crafted entirely in the UK, Black Fox Metalcraft's weathervanes are all electroplated as standard, meaning their lifespan will be significantly longer than that of a non electroplated version. The matt black powdercoat gives a traditional aesthetic, which because of the high standard of the finish, will be maintained for many years to come.
