Penguins Weathervane
This Penguins weathervane features two Adelie Penguins stood together on rocky ground typical of their natural Antarctic habitat. Their white markings are precision cut using a nitrogen shrouded laser, keeping the metal cool and preventing warping. The design is carefully composed with functionality in mind; the Penguin with the most surface area stands at the back of the sail for the wind to catch, and the bird in the centre of the sail stands front on meaning that most of her visible body is white and therefore cut out. We’ve taken great care to ensure that there are enough contact points with the rocks, ground and other bird, so avoiding any weak points but keeping a design that will spin into the wind.
You can feel the quality in a weathervane from Black Fox Metalcraft. The arrows are cut from chunky 8mm steel to ensure the perfect balancing of the sail, while the NSEW is cut from 5mm steel meaning they look and feel robust. Because the sail functions perfectly spinning into where the wind is coming from, the Penguins profile never has the full force of the wind exerted on it.
