Hand Forged Heart Hook

A hand crafted hook with heart shaped back plate, created in our workshop in the Scottish borders.

Dimensions : Approx 12 cm x 22 cm

The hook is cut from chunky 5 mm thick steel, then heated in our coal forge, rounded over the anvil and curved into a beautiful rat's tail end, in order to avoid snagging clothes.

This hook is finished in a layer of beeswax, applied when the metal is at a black heat. If mounted outside, this would slowly develop an attractive light rusty patina, but indoors will retain the striking dark grey of traditional forged ironwork.
