I love Schnauzers for their beard and expressive eyebrows; they remind me of little grumpy old men! A versatile breed, German in origin, they have historically been used for tasks as diverse as pest control, guard dogs, herding livestock and even pulling small carts. Despite this wroking heritage they are known for being great family dogs, gentle with children. The breed comes in miniature, standard and giant versions, each with the same distinctive wire coat and sturdy build.
