Oak Tree Weathervane

This page features our Oak tree weathervane. A slow growing hardwood tree that lives for hundreds of years, the Oak is revered around the world and is the subject of legends though the ages. It's wood is used in creating things as diverse as wine barrels, timber frames for houses and in smoking foods. Though there are numerous varieties, an Oak's leaves are distinctive in shape, making them easy to identify. A random interesting fact: did you know that the word Cork comes from the Latin for oak; 'Quercus' as corks were initially made from a spongy barked variety of Oak tree!
