Oak Tree Weathervane

This page features our Oak tree weathervane. A slow growing hardwood tree that lives for hundreds of years, the Oak is revered around the world and is the subject of legends though the ages. It's wood is used in creating things as diverse as wine barrels, timber frames for houses and in smoking foods. Though there are numerous varieties, an Oak's leaves are distinctive in shape, making them easy to identify. A random interesting fact: did you know that the word Cork comes from the Latin for oak; 'Quercus' as corks were initially made from a spongy barked variety of Oak tree!

Oak Tree Design

If you're interested in Oak trees, check out the laser cut murals we created for a customer in Cumbria - they're based on an Oak tree through the seasons. All of Black Fox’s metalwork is designed by a professional illustrator, meaning it’s no problem to create a bespoke, nature themed weathervane exactly to your specifications, and with no extra charge.

Designed and crafted entirely in the UK, Black Fox Metalcraft's weathervanes are all electroplated as standard, meaning their lifespan will be significantly longer than that of a non electroplated version. The matt black powdercoat gives a traditional aesthetic, which because of the high standard of the finish, will be maintained for many years to come. For advice on choosing the most appropriate size of weathervane for your property and the location, have a look at the weathervanes installation page.
